What is prayer without faith? What use is going to church once a week without faith? Both activities will give you minuscule results at best, and only in this lifetime. God rewards faith, not faithlessness. Jesus rewarded blind men for their faith by opening their eyes. After that, he went to his hometown and was not honored in any way. The lack of faith found in that town didn’t weaken Jesus, but only a few people were healed. God provides the power for miracles, but your faith must be engaged. God isn’t ultimately as interested in opening physical eyes as he is in opening spiritual eyes.
The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. That is at true today as it was then. To be a harvester, you don’t have to be a pastor or a door-to-door salesman. It begins in the home and spreads out to wherever you are known. Just share the fruits of the spirit in all times and circumstances, and let it be known that you follow Jesus. You don’t have to be obnoxious. Just be joyful and hope-filled and God will set up the conversations as others approach you. Other times, you may be led to open up a conversation. Just be open to it!
