Have you noticed how famous the stories of Jesus are? I remember these from my childhood. I was raised in a Christian home, but many of these stories are used as catch phrases and punch lines today. While this is disrespectful, it also shows how Jesus continues to be a factor in our society.
The feeding of five thousand is both blessing and sharing. The bread of Jesus is enough to feed the world and sharing Jesus only multiplies the blessing. Only those who refuse to eat the bread will go hungry.
Peter didn’t start to sink until he looked away from Jesus and noticed the miracle that wasn’t normal. You could fault him for this, or you could be astounded in his faith to get out of the boat in the first place! And when he started to falter, Jesus was right there to catch him. Where in your life do you see the call from God to get out of the boat?
