I wonder what Judas was thinking when Jesus announced that one of them would betray him. The decision to betray is usually not made quickly. It begins in the heart and grows into something that the betrayer feels compelled to carry out. Sometimes because they become convinced that betrayal is the right thing to do. Sometimes because they got thirty pieces of silver.
Judas isn’t mentioned by name much before this event. I wonder if that is because the writers didn’t want to draw attention to him prior to this. Ultimately God carried along the writers of the Bible and Judas was not supposed to be the focal point of the story.
We all like sheep have gone astray. Each of us have turned to his own way. And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. God has saved you from horrendous sins. Every sin is cosmic treason against your creator! If He can forgive you, you can forgive others.
